Racine Zoo previews spring events including Mother's Day brunch and Bloody Mary Fest
RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Racine Zoo's "All In for the Animals" fundraiser is taking place through May 17, with donations matched by the Ruud Family Foundation for up to $5,000. The campaign supports daily and veterinary care for more than 300 animals across 75 species.
Executive director Beth Heidorn joined us on Tuesday, April 28 to discuss the fundraiser as well as a new round of upcoming events.
Coming up, the zoo is hosting a Mother's Day brunch on Sunday, May 10, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., featuring a catered meal, a giraffe encounter and same-day zoo admission. Bloody Mary Fest follows on Saturday, May 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. along the lakefront, with local bars competing for best bloody mary.
Sip, Sing & Safari, a lakefront brunch sing-along, is available May 30 or Aug. 15. The zoo's annual charity golf outing, A Round for Rhinos, takes place Monday, June 22, at Meadowbrook Country Club with a shotgun start at 2 p.m.
