MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A first-of-its-kind event celebrated Black culture on Thursday, Aug. 3, to help kick off the upcoming Bronzeville Week.

Radio Milwaukee hosted its inaugural "HYFIN Anti-Gala" at the Marcus Performing Arts Center.

The gathering had musicians Madison McFerrin and Silas Short hitting the stage, along with fashion shows and a menu curated by local barbecue chef Jason Alston.

Young Black trailblazers were honored at the ceremony. Milwaukee Crime Stoppers was also recognized with the Community Impact Award.

CBS 58's own Amanda Porterfield, a member of the Crime Stoppers board, was there to accept the award.
