A lot of this focus in the weather department so far in September has been on temperatures after a very cool start to the month and now above average temperatures returning for the last week. But, rainfall has been lacking for the month. Most of the rain we've picked up in Milwaukee came last weekend with that round of heavy rain and storms Friday night into Saturday morning. That left us with 0.68" of rain for the month which is over an inch behind average.
Rain chances will increase over the next few days as we head into the weekend. After some light, isolated showers during the day Friday, there's a better chance for scattered storms Friday night. We might get a bit of a break with the rain Saturday from the mid to late morning before more storms are likely Saturday afternoon and evening.
Sunday will be similar as well with scattered showers off and on throughout the day, but also the chance at some dry time.
Rain totals by the end of the weekend could reach over an inch in some locations after rounds of showers and storms. Most of southeast Wisconsin will pick up between 0.75-1.50" of rain. The storm chance will linger through Monday but right now the middle of next week looks dry.
