A few light showers passed through overnight, but the widespread rain is just beginning to move into southern Wisconsin early this morning.
Stronger thunderstorms are located in Illinois closer to the warm front. This front will stay in Illinois today, but a few isolated storms may sneak over the Illinois border. Any storms will have the potential to produce hail, but the severe risk will stay south of the state.
Steady light to moderate rain is expected for most of the day, tapering off later this evening into tonight.
Between .25-.75" of rain is likely for most with isolated higher totals possible in spots that see storms.
It's already been a fairly soggy March with nearly two inches of rain already. We don't really need any more rain in southeast Wisconsin as we're running nearly two inches above normal for the year.
Temps will be steady in the low to mid 40s today. Upper 40s lakeside to low 50s inland are expected Friday with mid 50s likely on Saturday, but cooler weather returns for the start of next week.
