GOP immigration bill would require Milwaukee to help ICE or lose...
Right now it's not against the law for parents to let their kids drink inside their own homes.
But Wisconsin State Senator Van Wanggaard of Racine is re-introducing a bill aimed at changing that.
He hopes it will reduce teenage drinking and driving.
Last year, a state appeals court found that current law only makes it illegal for underage kids to get alcohol at bars of stores.
State Rep Andres Jacque and Senator Wanggaard want to extend the law to include adults who host underage drinking in their homes.
Penalties could go up to $10,000 or even jail time.
"We've found in other states where they've had this clarity that the amount of juveniles drinking has been reduced significantly," the senator tells CBS 58 News. "And the amount of drunk driving has been reduced significantly. That's what we're looking for."
