MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission investigation found seven former civilian employees of the police department were removed without cause.
The investigation found the employees were either terminated or forced to resign.
Former Milwaukee police chief Alfonso Morales was ultimately the person who allowed the firing.
They say only a vague explanation was given.
"Each of these people were told the exact same thing. Each was told they had a choice, either of resigning immediately or being terminated that day. They were not told why this was happening, the only thing to that effect was a statement that several of these people were given that the department was going in another direction, but that was never really defined on what that meant."
The city attorney is looking into what can be done for the employees who were fired.
