Republicans respond to President Biden's Racine County visit

CBS 58

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Republicans are responding to President Biden's visit to Wisconsin. They say the Biden administration's policies have hurt families economically.

"He's coming here today to take credit for private sector work that began over 10 years ago. The new jobs in Racine County -- that's a win for workers and is absolutely essential in a period of time of high inflation when families are falling further and further behind," said Rep. Bryan Steil (R-Wisconsin).

The GOP also noted the power draw from data centers like the one Microsoft is building is massive.

They argue the Oak Creek Power Plant should be converted to natural gas and pipelines should be built to supply it.

The president halted construction of the Keystone XL pipeline when he got into office in 2021.
