Round of heavy rain Tuesday morning will allow flooding to linger
A round of heavy rain and strong storms is currently moving through southeast Wisconsin Tuesday morning. The storms are dropping a quick inch of rain in some spots. Parts of Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington and Ozaukee Counties were under a brief severe thunderstorm warning as the storms moved through. A wind gusts of 67 mph was reported in Oconomowoc and numerous power outages have been reported with the storms.
Here is a radar image that will update with time:
With the new rainfall Tuesday morning a new Flood Advisory has been issued for northern Waukesha County until 8:30 AM. Water may briefly cover some roads as storm drains become overwhelmed and basement and yard flooding concners will likely linger a bit longer due to the extra rain.
A few more showers and storms will be possible off and on through the rest of Tuesday. Heavy rain should not be as big of an issue with any more rain, at least not on a widespread level, but some pockets of downpours or a few isolated stronger storms will be possible.
