A boost in temperatures despite the lack of sunshine
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Curbs, walkways and landscaping at 35th and Fond du Lac received an upgrade. CBS 58 got a look at the transformation on Wednesday, July 15.
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and other leaders held a news conference to show off the updated area where the new Sherman Phoenix business hub is located.
It looks nice but they're calling it a pedestrian safety project along a street that's often very busy.
"We want people to be able to walk to this incredible location in a safe manner. And so Jeff Polenske and his team at the Department of Public Works decided that they were going to make this more pedestrian friendly," Mayor Barrett said.
Another official involved in the project calls it a model for storm water management to reduce the risk of flooding.
