In custody: Man accused of setting girlfriend on fire arrested in Chicago

SALEM LAKES, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A man accused of setting his girlfriend on fire and going on the run, was captured in Chicago.

Authorities say Myron Bowie was apprehended without incident.

SALEM LAKES, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Salem Lakes woman is in critical condition after being set on fire by her boyfriend, who is now on the run.

The Kenosha County Sheriff Office and the Village of Salem Lakes Fire Department responded to a call from a woman in a house near 86th and 245th on Sunday, July 30 around 4:47 a.m. saying her boyfriend had set her on fire.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with severe burns.

The victim's boyfriend, Myron Faith Bowie, is described as a Black man in his mid 30's, about 6 feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He is believed to be driving a black Cadillac SRX with Illinois license plates: DQ46996. He has a felony warrant for his arrest and is considered armed and dangerous. He has been known to stay in the Chicago area, Logan Square and Wicker Park.

The sheriff office says Myron told the victim in an argument that he would kill her, her children and her whole family before setting her on fire and driving away.

This investigation is ongoing.

Myron’s location is currently unknown, and the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department is asking for everyone’s assistance in looking for Myron and his vehicle.
