WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Republican U.S. Senator Ron Johnson made a return trip to Waukesha in the final hours before the election. It's his second campaign stop in Waukesha in the last two days.

Sen. Johnson was met with a round of applause at the Waukesha County Expo. What he gave back to the crowd was a solid request.

In what is anticipated to be one of the tightest races in the state, Sen. Johnson's pressing this highly Republican area to help get out the vote.

"But what I'm asking you to do is don't count anybody out. I don' t care about past party affiliations. Ask them to join us in healing and unifying and saving this country, can you do that for me?" Sen. Johnson said.

The rally at the Waukesha County Expo posing the classic partisan question -- has life gotten better or worse with a Democratic governor and president?

"We got a president that went to Saudi Arabia to beg for oil. He should've been going to North Dakota and West Texas, don't you think?" said Congressman Bryan Steil, 1st District.

A full parking lot greeted Sen. Johnson with cheers as he stepped off what he calls his Ron-mobile, posing for pictures and talking to voters.

"And you know what we're talking about? We're talking about how to fix this country," said Johnson.

Johnson also unleashed some verbal punches against opponent Mandela Barnes and his political ads.

"I know his mom was a teacher. I know his dad worked third shift. By the way, I worked all shifts for about five to six years, okay?" said Johnson.

Ron Johnson will be hosting his election night headquarters up near Oshkosh and we'll be following along on what's expected to be a tight race.
