Senator Bradley honors foster couple with Forward28 Award for 15 years of dedication providing care for children in need
CBS 58 WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- For over 15 years Gerald and Laura Morrison have opened their hearts and their home to children through their dedication to foster care.
On Friday, Jan. 2, Senator Julian Bradley honored them for their impact by giving them the Forward28 Award.
"Gerald and Laura have stepped up again and again for children in need of safety, stability and love," stated Sen. Bradley in a press release. "Their willingness to care for the most vulnerable in our society reflects a level of compassion that deserves recognition."
The Morrisons have accepted 12 children into their home, adopted three, supported three unified with their families and are currently caring for three brothers who are pending adoption.
They are also known for keeping siblings together and providing care to children with medical needs and trauma histories.
Professionals that have worked with them describe them as "the most expectational foster parents they have encountered," according to the press release.
Gerald and Laura have also been selected as recipients for the Outstanding Families Awards in November of 2025.
