This week started with a lot of wind and a soaking rain. After a few dry days that gusty and rainy weather will return. The rain chance will increase throughout the day Thursday with some drizzle possible in the morning and showers in the afternoon.
The steadiest rain will arrive Thursday evening and last through most of Thursday night into Friday morning. The heaviest of the rain should wrap up by mid-morning Friday with just a few light showers lingering, especially lakeside, through Friday afternoon and evening. By Saturday the rain chance is done with sunshine returning to the area leading to a nice and seasonable holiday weekend.
It's expected to be another soaking rain with a quarter to three-quarters inch of rain for most of southeast Wisconsin. The highest totals will likely be in areas south of I-94 where up to an inch is possible.
In addition to the rain, more wind is on the way. Not as strong as Monday where we had a wind advisory and gusts to 50 mph but wind gusts will likely top 30 mph. After a breezy day Thursday the strongest wind arrives Friday afternoon with gusts to 35 mph. The wind will die down as clouds decrease going into Saturday.
