Someone is dumping roofing nails on roadways throughout the Village of Grafton, causing damage to cars
GRAFTON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Grafton police are warning drivers to be on the lookout after receiving numerous reports of an unknown persons dumping large amounts of roofing nails in roadways and intersections around the village, causing damage to vehicles.
Police shared the news in a Facebook post on Sunday, May 24.
According to police, someone is dumping 1" to 1 1/4 " roofing nails on the village's roadways, with many of the occurrences happening near Wichita Lane between Blackhawk Drive and 17th Avenue.

- 1400 block 12th Avenue
- S Green Bay & Falls Rd
- S Green Bay & 12th Ave
- Hickory St and 9th Ave
- Hickory St and 8th Ave
- Wisconsin and Bridge St
- Wisconsin and 9th Ave
- 1500 block Wisconsin Ave
- Columbia Rd and 1st Ave
- 400 to 600 block of Falls Rd
- Cheyenne Ave and Cheyenne Ct
- 1800 to 2200 blocks of Washington St
Authorities say the nails are usually dumped Saturday nights after dark. Graton police are adding extra patrols and working to secure doorbell video from the area.
