St. Francis school resource officer accused of secretly recording student
ST. FRANCIS (CBS 58) -- A St. Francis school resource officer was arrested for allegedly recording a female student without her knowing.
The accused is 58-year-old Dimitri Kamolov.
According to St. Francis police, upon hearing the allegations, Kamolov was immediately placed on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of the investigation.
A criminal complaint says Kamolov propped up a cellphone in his office and started recording video. Investigators say Kamolov invited the 17-year-old student into his office for a surprise. Kamolov reportedly brought the student a t-shirt back from Brazil. There were two shirts to choose from, both different sizes.
Kamolov, according to the complaint, left the office to allow the student to try on the shirts to find one that fit best.
The complaint says the student took off a zip-up hoodie and put one of the shirts on over a tank top. That's when, according to the complaint, the student found the cellphone propped up and recording.
The student immediately reported the incident to the principal.
Kamolov has been charged with the following:
- Invasion of privacy -- surveillance device (victim under age 18)
- Attempted capture an intimate representation without consent (victim under 18)
