MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee children have another place to play this summer.
Milwaukee Recreation held a ribbon cutting at the newly renovated playfield on N 40th St on Thursday, June 13.
There are upgrades to the basketball and tennis courts, walking loops, playground equipment, splash pad, shade structures, and a multi-purpose field.
This is part of the recreation's mission to renovate all 52 playfields through the City of Milwaukee.
"To give our community a place where they feel proud to be present at, they feel proud this is in their neighborhood, but most importantly, they're just here recreating," said Lynn Greb, recreation director with Milwaukee Recreation.
Another playfield is just about ready for kids as well.
A ribbon cutting for a new Carmen Playfield will be held a week from today.
