Stormy start to Independence Day then mostly dry but hot and humid

NOW: Stormy start to Independence Day then mostly dry but hot and humid

Mother Nature wanted to get in on the July 4th fireworks with her own natural fireworks. Loud storms with heavy rain rolled through all of southeast Wisconsin Friday morning. Most of the heavy rain and storms will be done for the morning parades but some linger rain may be possible in communities south of I-94.

After the round of storms in the morning, the rest of the day looks fairly dry. There may be an isolated shower or storm chance in the afternoon and evening centered around 5 PM.

Even if we see those isolated storms, the forecast looks dry by fireworks time. It's going to be mild and muggy and you might want to grab the bug spray if you're planning on watching the artificial fireworks.

The morning storms won't have too much of an impact on expected hot temps for the holiday. High temperatures will reach the upper 80s to around 90 by Friday afternoon with tropical humidity. The combo of warmth and high humidity will push feel like temps into the mid to upper 90s for Friday afternoon.

The rest of the 4th of July weekend stays humid. Much hotter Saturday with highs in the low 90s. Even though Sunday is cooler around 80 it is still pretty humid, especially in the morning. Most of Saturday is dry but we do have a good chance for showers and storms Saturday evening through early Sunday. But the rain chance for the rest of Sunday has gone down.
