MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- One local non-profit wants the community members to know they do not have to face trauma alone.
STRYV365 is a local non-profit that works to equip youth with a resilient mindset through trauma-informed programming in education, athletics, and activities. On Wednesday, their second annual trauma symposium focused on letting others help you during your darkest moments.
"We said let's bring individuals, organizations, community partners together, have conversations, but hopefully leave this symposium with action-oriented approaches that they're going to try to implement to truly create the change and have a greater impact on youth," STRYV365 CEO & Founder Brandon Currie said.
The keynote speaker for the event was Adrian Griffin, who shared his journey from being an undrafted college graduate to the new head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks. Griffin said despite the challenges he faced, the encouragement he got from his loved ones kept him going. STRYV365 invited the coach to share his story because they want the community to know that overcoming trauma to find success is a group effort.
