MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The third of 41 suicide prevention trainings honoring Ald. Jonathan Brostoff, who died by suicide in November, was held at The Friendship Circle in Fox Point on Monday, December 10.
Brostoff’s friend, Rabbi Levi Stein, is the Executive Director of The Friendship Circle, which is a space that prioritizes mental health in the city.
Stein aims to hold 41 sessions in honor of the 41 years of Brostoff’s life. Stein says Brostoff dedicated his life to public service.
“I think about how he would want me to respond, and I think this is exactly what he would tell me to do,” Stein said. “I know that he’s very very passionate about this. That doesn't mean it was able to control the outcome of what he went through, but that doesn’t mean it can’t help someone else’s outcome.”
Stein has a goal of educating 1,000 people through the class, SafeTALK. You can find a link to register for the free upcoming classes across Wisconsin here.
