MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Acting Mayor Cavalier Johnson was at "Employ Milwaukee" April 1 to announce the opening of registration for this summer's Earn and Learn employment program.
The mayor was joined by Employ Milwaukee president and CEO Chytania Brown, saying it will continue to help the city's young people get jobs so they can earn a paycheck and feel like they're a part of the community.
"We want everyone to help build in the values that have helped to shape Milwaukee. In particular, hard work, responsibility, as well as integrity. This program helps to do just that for so many young people right here in our city," said Acting Mayor Cavalier Johnson.
The CEO of Earn and Learn says the program provides critical exposure to good lifestyles for the city's youth.
Three-hundred and ninety-two kids have already been signed up for the summer program, with 47 organizations signed on to employ them.
