FREDONIA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The time to shine for sunflowers is now. And one local apple orchard is taking advantage of the season. This Saturday and Sunday during the Labor Day weekend, Appleland in the village of Fredonia in Ozaukee County is holding its Sunflower Festival. These flowers, in the daisy family, are just about at its peak.

You've probably seen a lot of them growing in fields recently. Of course, this beautiful scenery bodes well for a few nice pics on your phone too.

While at Appleland this weekend, you can also pick Honeycrisp apples. The festival admission is $5 per person, $10 for a family. The price gets you a wagon ride to the flower fields and one complimentary sunflower. There will also be art and food truck vendors on hand. Click here or here to learn more about the event.
