Sunny to start the week, but rain and storms move in on Tuesday

It's been a glorious weekend with abundant sunshine and highs in the 60s and 70s. A few spots even reached the low 80s today!

Mainly sunny skies are expected once again on Monday, but an easterly wind will make temps cooler than today. Highs reach the mid 60s lakeside and around 70° inland.

Clouds begin to move back into the area Monday night into Tuesday morning as a slow moving low pressure system moves across the Midwest. A band of showers and embedded storms will roll in Tuesday afternoon ahead of the warm front.

How far north that warm front gets Tuesday afternoon and evening will determine if we see strong to severe storms or not. This time of year, warm fronts have a hard time moving north near Lake Michigan, but often move into SW and south central Wisconsin.

This is where the Storm Prediction Center currently has a level 2 of 5, Slight Risk, for severe storms on Tuesday.

The later arrival time is lowering our severe risk in SE WI.

Rounds of showers and storms will move through Tuesday night and off and on for most of Wednesday.

Between .50-1.50" of rain is expected from this system with locally higher totals possible in spots that see stronger storms.

Temps will rise into the 60s Wednesday, but temps fall into the 50s for the rest of the week and into next weekend.
