The full letter can be read here:
Dear Engleburg Families and Staff,
We value you as a member of our school community, and we want to keep you informed.
Last week, we received a report that a staff member allegedly hit a student. We immediately notified the Milwaukee Police Department, and they are conducting an investigation. We also notified Child Protective Services. As with any such case, we are conducting an internal investigation. With no school on Thursday or Friday last week, the investigation continued into this week. The individual is not currently working in our schools.
We take any report like this seriously. In addition to any police action, we will take all appropriate disciplinary action.
We understand that this situation might have been upsetting to students or staff who were in the area. If your child needs assistance after this event, please contact the school office to be connected to the school counselor, nurse, psychologist, or social worker. School staff may access the Employee Assistance Program to learn about available options.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support as we continue to make Engleburg a safe and welcoming place for all.
Sincerely,
Marquis Hines
Principal
We will have continued updates as they become available.
