18-year-old sentenced to 3 years probation after shots fired during Cinco de Mayo festivities

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- According to court documents, 18-year-old Deon Nabor is facing 3 years probation after shots were fired during Cinco de Mayo festivities last May.

According to a criminal complaint, officers were conducting crowd control for Cinco de Mayo festivities near 16th and Scott on May 5 when an officer heard gunshots.

The complaint says an officer saw a suspect, later identified as Deon Nabors, fire at least seven shots into the air in a "rapid, automatic fashion."

The officer reportedly told Nabor to stop, before shooting and injuring him.

Nabor was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The officer was cleared in the incident.

Nabor changed his plea to guilty in August.
