
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)--As of early Saturday, the National Weather Service has confirmed four tornadoes in Dodge County following Thursday's storms. Two EF-1s and the other two EF-2s. The first tornado was classified as an EF-2 with winds around 120 mph. It touched down at 5:42 PM just west of Juneau and stayed on the ground for 9.2 miles, ending just east of Horicon. The second one was an EF-1. It touched down at 5:42 PM near the Dodge County Airport, north of Juneau. It headed east for about four miles with peak winds of 95 MPH. The third one, an EF-2, hit a minute before 6:00 PM just southwest of Mayville. It continued to the northeast for about five miles with winds at 120 MPH. And finally, about ten minutes later, the last tornado, an EF-1, briefly touched down just southwest of Lomira with an estimated path length of half a mile and a peak wind of 95 MPH.
Luckily, there were only a few minor injuries with these storms. Also, Warning Coordinating Meteorologist with the National Weather Service, Tim Halbach, says there was 20 and 40 minutes of warn time with the two larger tornadoes respectively.
As it stands now, Wisconsin has had 15 tornadoes this year. The state averages 23 in any given year.
