ALBIA, Iowa (CBS 58) -- A tortoise found wandering in Wisconsin has been promoted to the police force.
The Albia Police Department in Albia, Iowa, introduced Officer Bonsai -- a salcata tortoise -- as the newest member of their department.
After being rescued in Wisconsin, an Albia officer drove 14 hours round trip to bring Bonsai back to Iowa.
Dubbed Chief of Shellcurity, Officer Bonsai takes her duties seriously.
She patrols under desks, keeps a close eye on workplace shenanigans, and makes sure everything is running… slowly but smoothly.
Officer Bonsai is loved so much, the department created a coloring page, crossword, and maze for anyone to enjoy. CLICK HERE for more.
