GLENDALE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said a truck heading northbound on I-43 around 3 p.m. crashed into light poles in the median. Debris from crash hit six cars and closing down lanes in both directions.
"It's a blessing that they are okay," said Jim Lovering.
Lovering rushed to the scene shortly after the accident. His grandson, daughter and her mom were in one of those cars.
He said thankfully, the light pole just grazed his daughter's car.
"It did a glancing blow and just missed going through the front windshield and it took off the side mirror on the passenger side and rammed in the side of the car," said Lovering.
Our cameras were rolling when one person was taken into custody. It's still uncertain his involvement int he crash but Jim's just glad no one got hurt.
"It could have been really bad if that light pole if it went through the windshield there could have been serious injuries," said Lovering.
It took about an hour and half to clean up the accident. We are still waiting to hear from the sheriff's office why the person was taken into custody and if there were any factors in the crash.
