NOW: Trump visits Wisconsin with 30 days until Election Day

JUNEAU, Wis (CBS 58) -- Former President Donald Trump made a return to Wisconsin for a campaign rally in Juneau on Sunday, Oct. 6.

The Republican Presidential Nominee addressed issues he continues to emphasize at his rallies, including the southern border and the economy.

On Thursday, Vice President Harris visited the swing state.

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Professor Emeritus Mordecai Lee said these continued trips to Wisconsin prove that the state is a toss-up for the upcoming presidential race.

“They’re fighting over Wisconsin which means we’re right on the knife’s edge,” Lee said. "The fact that they’ve both been in Wisconsin the past couple of days is telling you that Wisconsin has not yet been decided.”

Lee said both candidates for president will likely continue to campaign on the key issues that their voting base cares about in the coming weeks.

“The easiest way to figure out how they think they are going to win is the issues they are emphasizing,” Lee said. “The Democrats are going with health care and abortion and the Republicans are going with border security and the economy. That means their polling is telling them that those are the top issues for their probable voters.”

At Trump's rally on Sunday, a group of sheriffs took the stage to give their endorsement to the Republican Nominee.

Democrats had a press conference before the Former President acknowledged January 6th and what they called Trump’s previous willingness to violate the law.

Lee said the Trump campaign’s move to show off this endorsement is likely just a visual as opposed to a way to try to get more voters to cast ballots in his favor.

Lee said in the coming week, it’s very likely that visits from high-level politicians will continue as they try to encourage voter turnout.

"It’s all about turnout. It’s all about those last couple thousand votes," Lee said. "That’s going to be how they win Wisconsin."
