Two separate robbery attempts leave 1 dead and 2 injured; MPD seeking unknown suspects

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police is investigating a triple shooting involving two separate robbery attempts around ten minutes away from each other earlier today, July 4. 

The first was a double shooting that occurred around 11:13 a.m. near W. Townsend and N. 26th St.

According to law enforcement, armed suspects robbed the victim and gunfire was exchanged between the suspects and the victim. 

A suspect, a 21-year-old, received fatal injuries. The victim, a 20-year-old, was transported to a local hospital for non-fatal injuries.

Milwaukee police are seeking another unknown suspect in this shooting. 

The second shooting was another attempted robbery around 12:36 p.m. near W. Marion and N. 63rd St.

A 45-year-old was transported to a hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries.

Milwaukee police are seeking an unknown suspect.
