Upcoming plant sale to help keep monarch butterflies here to stay and not fly away

CBS

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A special annual plant sale this coming weekend has the birds, bees and butterflies in mind. It's all to help the environment and our overall eco-system.

The Friends of the Monarch Trail are inviting everyone to plan their garden this year with a purpose. Their advice is to plant milkweed for the monarchs, nectar for the pollinators, and native plants to feed the diversity of insects, birds, and wildlife to help recover their diminishing habitat.

This non-profit group puts on an annual plant sale to make it easier to fulfill its mission of helping the ecosystem. The sale will be this weekend, both days, at Greenfield Park Pavilion.

Here's all the information about the event you need to know. You're actually encouraged to pre-order your items. Click here if you want to help volunteer with the Milwaukee County Parks system or want to learn more information in general.
