MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --U.S. Transportation Security Pete Buttigieg visited Milwaukee on Wednesday, July 31. Buttigieg took a tour of the DeLong facility at the Port of Milwaukee Wednesday morning.
Buttigieg is highlighting how the Biden administrations “investing in America” agenda is benefiting cities like Milwaukee
We followed along with Buttigieg on his tour of the DeLong agriculture export facility.
Last year, the Delong facility received $9 million in funding to expand its operations to better serve Wisconsin farmers.
Buttigieg says this expansion will support Milwaukee's economy in the long run.
"Part of why we’ve been able to bring inflation down in the last couple of years is by straightening out bottlenecks in the supply chains we are doubling down on that work because that takes the pressure off those shipping costs that keeps the prices we pay at the store under control," said Buttigieg.
Buttigieg ended his visit in Milwaukee by meeting with Governor Tony Evers and taking a ride on a portion of the Amtrak Borealis line.
