Video shows teen jumping on police squad during 'chaotic' scene at Carmen Park
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Video showing chaos at a park in Milwaukee Sunday is getting hundreds of thousands of views on social media.
A witness estimated 300 teens and kids were at Carmen Playfield on the city's northwest side when police arrived around 7:30 p.m.
Tyler Bender was at his friend's house across the street from the park when commotion erupted.
According to Milwaukee police, several people in the group were arguing and making threats. Then, a 15-year-old boy jumped on top of a squad car, causing damage. Police said that teen was arrested for disorderly conduct.
According to Bender, a lot of kids stuck around even after that arrest.
"There was a lot just going on," he said. "I think they were here for maybe another hour or two after the cops just sitting here blocking the street off, and the kids were just still there. Like, it was just so many, they couldn't control everything."
Bender said it seemed like a planned takeover at the park. He said it didn't seem like the others were causing any harm or damage to the park or the neighborhood, but it was still "chaotic" to see.
MPD says the 15-year-old was the only person arrested. No one else was cited.
