Well October certainly went out with a bang with over 3" of snow officially falling in Milwaukee and measurable snow throughout all of southeast Wisconsin. The big snow to end October made it the 4th snowiest October on record and puts us exactly 3" above average. In fact, if we don't see any snow during the month of November we would still start December with a snow surplus.
October was also a wet month where we saw our drought go away. Precip totals, which includes the liquid equivalent to the Halloween snow, saw 3.15" of rain fall. That rainfall is nearly a half inch above average and double what we had in October 2022. This October goes down as the 32nd wettest October on record.
Temperatures were also, overall, warm during October. The average monthly temp was exactly 55.5* which is 2.5* above average and it goes down as the 21st warmest October on record.
Now we are in the month of November where we typically cool a lot. The average highs go from the mid 50s to around 40 by the end of the month and the lows go from the upper 30s to the upper 20s. The month typically picks up about 2.5" of snow and over 2" of total precipitation.
