Waukesha County Sheriff's Department responds to 38 accidents due to icy conditions

WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Roads were treacherous in Waukesha County on Saturday morning.

DOT video captured a crash that happened around 8:30 a.m. on I-94 in Oconomowoc.

The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department had to shut down the westbound portion of I-94 between Highway 67 and the Jefferson County Line due to icy conditions.

They needed to get the traffic off the highway and the salt trucks in. The highway was shut down for roughly an hour.

Between the hours of 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Saturday, the Sheriff's Department responded to 38 accidents in the county and 8 runoffs.

There were no serious injuries reported in any of the crashes.
