WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Multiple crashes closed all eastbound lanes of I-94 near Elm Grove Road in Brookfield on Friday, Jan. 30. Hazardous winter weather was a factor in the crash.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), four separate crashes occurred involving a total of nine vehicles and one semi truck.

"Two cars, they had most of it cleaned up by then, but the biggest one for me is people need to slow down and not rush. If I can’t see in front of me and I'm hauling a trailer, it’s not going to be a small accident," said Andrew Schultz, who was driving in the westbound lanes.

Officials say one person was injured.

Lanes were closed starting at Moorland Road to the Waukesha/Milwaukee County line for approximately an hour and a half.

Drivers say they just want people to slow down, for their own safety and the safety of others on the road.

“I think people need to slow down on the road and actually take way more precautions because this weather is real serious and it’s no joke out here," said Amire Williams, who was driving in the westbound lanes.
