Waukesha Christmas Parade Memorial Fund reaches goal through match campaign, construction to begin in May

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- In Waukesha, the parade memorial at Grede Park is one step closer to completion. 

The Waukesha County Community Foundation and the City of Waukesha announced the recent matching campaign for the Waukesha Christmas Parade Memorial Fund is now complete on Thursday, April 18. 

The city said on Facebook that an anonymous donor matched all new gifts up to $15,000 last week. 

In total, the WCC reports more than 40 donors with gifts ranging up to $4,000. 

Construction on the parade memorial will start next month. It is planned to be completed by Nov. 21, 2024, the third-year anniversary of the parade tragedy.
