Wauwatosa School District says mask-wearing will remain mandatory indoors for remainder of school year

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Wauwatosa School District says mask-wearing will be mandatory indoors on district property for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year, regardless of vaccination status.

The district says this includes before and after-school activities, Recreation Department programming, Junior Kindergarten and Tosa Tots.

Exceptions exist for those with a medical condition and for those who are actively eating or drinking.

Masks are recommended for all outdoor activities and Summer School programming.

A statement released Wednesday, May 19, says "The Wauwatosa School District will continue to review guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the Wauwatosa Health Department now and in the future, and we will use that information to help guide our decisions regarding our COVID-19 mitigation procedures."
