Wear vintage diving equipment at Milwaukee's lakefront this weekend for Classic Diving Event

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The Lake Michigan Classic Diving Organization will host Wisconsin’s first Classic Diving Event on Milwaukee’s lakefront this weekend. Portions of this three-day dive event will be open to the general public, with the opportunity to wear and dive into Lake Michigan with vintage designed diving equipment under close supervision.

“Underwater diving has a long history and direct tie to Milwaukee,” said Christine Koellner, general manager of Diving Equipment and Supply Company Corporation. “We are proud to honor this history and participate in giving the greater Milwaukee community an opportunity to experience it firsthand.”

The event is free to attend but the diving experience costs $50 and lasts an hour. Anyone interested in diving must call 414-272-2371 or contact DESCOonline at DiveDESCO.com.

An estimated 500 divers will be traveling to Milwaukee from across the theUnited States and internationally to attend the conference portion of event, which will be held at Discovery World.
