'Whack jobs and morons': Vos unleashes on recall organizers
MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Assembly Speaker Robin Vos had some harsh words for those who ran a recall against him, calling them "whack jobs'' and "morons."
During a WisPolitics event, Vos did not hold back his frustration over the attempt by Donald Trump supporters who are trying to remove him as the longest-serving Assembly Speaker.
"The people who organized this are so out of touch with reality," Vos said. "They are morons. They are stupid."

Last week, recall organizers submitted more than 10,000 signatures but an initial review by the state Election Commission showed there was not enough from residents to trigger a recall. Election officials determined the effort fell about 945 signatures short.
Vos said he's hired dozens of volunteers and a private investigator to review the signatures, many of which his campaign believes are fraudulent.
"There's a ton of fraud," he said. "I am very confident that maybe less than half are even valid."
Vos said he plans to formally challenge the signatures by Thursday, the deadline to do so.
The Racine County district attorney has been investigating "numerous calls" from residents who say they never signed the recall petition but found their names on it anyways.
On Monday, the recall committee admitted in a statement some of the signatures they submitted include forgeries, but they called it a "sabotage" attempt that involved "recruiting individuals from out of Wisconsin" to "compromise our campaign's credibility."
District Attorney Patricia Hanson did not respond to requests on how many complaints they are investigating. In a statement last week, Hanson urged residents to check the petitions to see whether they're potential victims of identity theft.
