WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- We've learned that Morgan Geyser's legal team has filed a petition for her conditional release. 

Geyser played a role in the "Slender Man stabbing" back in 2014 in which she and her friend stabbed their classmate nearly 20 times in a Waukesha park. 

Late last year, Geyser removed her monitoring bracelet and escaped her group home. 

She was later found in Illinois and brought back to Wisconsin. 

A similar conditional release request was denied back in December, but now they are trying again. 

The petition is asking for her release if the court finds Geyser doesn't pose a threat to herself or others or a threat to cause property damage.
