Winter sports enthusiasts hit the slopes at Little Switzerland

SLINGER, Wis. (CBS 58) -- It's easy for a lot of us to complain about the weather when winter gets here. It's cold and it's messy and sometimes it's even dangerous. But of course, there are those among us who love winter weather. In fact, a man we spoke with Friday used a pretty cool term for a cold but sunny day like this: a bluebird day.

"It's just a bluebird, bluebird day. Can't see a cloud in the sky and people are enjoying it."

Brandon Wagner is assistant general manager at Little Switzerland, the ski area in Slinger, and on this second day of the new year, we saw a lot of people enjoying great conditions on the hills. They were skiing and snowboarding and living their best winter lives in conditions that we haven't always seen for winter sports.

"It started off with a big bang, a ton of natural snow, we just got - we just got hit hard in the beginning of the season with some natural snow and our customers were super excited. Especially after a couple lower snowfall years and this year, it looks like we're changing for the better."

Wagner says even during low snowfall years, their snow guns can make enough snow for their customers.

Little Switzerland is open from 9 a.m.-9:30 p.m.
