A boost in temperatures despite the lack of sunshine
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Some could say where words fail music speaks, that motto is very real for the Music Exploration Camp, part of the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music.
In July, the camp hosted several children between the ages of seven to 13-years-old for a week to learn different musical skills.
"The real purpose of it is to engage kids meaningfully in music. Our students are entering second to sixth grade and we want them to be excited about joining their music programs in the fall," said Dr. John Bragle, Director of Community Programs for the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music.
The camp was hosted at Doerfler School and Thoreau School this year to close the transportation gap.
"One of the big switches this year has been changing the location. One of the biggest obstacles is participation and to extracurricular events like a camp is funding and transportation. So, we moved from being in the center of the city to having a location here at the Doerfler School with MPS and having a location at the Thoreau School with MPS," said Dr. Bragle.
