Wisconsin reports 61 confirmed cases of cyclosporiasis

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) — Wisconsin health officials have confirmed 61 cases of cyclosporiasis across the state between May 1 and July 15.

According to health officials, 11 of the cases were acquired within the United States, while the remaining cases were associated with international travel.

Officials said no common food source has been identified among the cases.

Health experts recommend thoroughly washing all fruits and vegetables before eating, cutting or cooking them to help reduce the risk of infection.
