Wisconsin Supreme Court debate rescheduled for April 2 due to candidate illness

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Wednesday night's planned debate for state Supreme Court candidates has been postponed due to illness, according to Judge Chris Taylor's campaign.

In a statement released Wednesday afternoon, the judge's campaign said physicians recommended she visit a hospital for evaluation after waking up feeling unwell. It went on to say, in part:

"While she is unable to participate in tonight's debate, we look forward to rescheduling and finding an opportunity for voters to hear from both candidates before Election Day."

The campaign later provided an update, saying Taylor has been diagnosed with kidney stones. She'll spend the next few days recovering before returning to the campaign trail.

The debate for appeals court judges Maria Lazar and Taylor had been set to take place at Marquette Law School Wednesday evening. It's now been rescheduled for April 2.

The winner of the election will replace Justice Rebecca Bradley.
