Wisconsin's largest Ukrainian festival takes place in Franklin
CBS 58 FRANKLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The state's largest Ukrainian festival took place at Croation Park Beer Garden in Franklin on Sunday, Aug. 16.
There's live music, food, art and activities to celebrate the Ukraine's culture and community.
The festival comes days before the country's Independence Day which is on Aug. 24.
"I'm happy to see people being here, being able to be here, smiling, tasting the traditional Ukrainian foods. Seeing other people here that are from Ukraine, hearing their stories and how they got here, how they live here things like that and obviously always think of the people in Ukraine - they're still suffering," said Tanya Sushkova, treasurer of Wisconsin Ukrainians Inc.
The festival is organized by Wisconsin Ukrainians, Inc. -- a nonprofit organization.
All of the festival's proceeds will support the humanitarian and medical aid efforts.
