MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - - Sean Race of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation joined us on Tuesday, March 31, with construction updates on three major freeway projects.

On the I-94 East-West project, the current West Leg traffic positions will hold through late summer. Temporary widening of bridges over 64th, 68th and 70th streets is set to begin, with daytime work in the coming weeks.

A new pavement replacement project along around seven miles of I-43 in Waukesha County between WIS 83 and WIS 164 begins Wednesday, April 1, with work expected to run through the end of 2027. Overnight lane and ramp closures begin this week, with a long-term southbound lane closure starting next week.

On I-41, an overnight closure beginning April 6 will bring a two-week right-lane closure southbound from Appleton Ave. to Silver Spring Rd. and a closure of the Appleton Ave. entrance ramp to I-41 southbound. Crews will then switch traffic in mid to late April to include single-lane closures in both directions.
