RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A woman was arrested after making a bomb threat in Racine County on Friday, Jan. 17.

It happened around 2:15 p.m.

According to the Racine County Sheriff's Office, a 29-year-old woman told a Racine County employee that she had placed a bomb within a publicly accessible area of the Racine County Jail.

The sheriff's office determined there was a suspicious package left by a person just prior before receiving the threat. The Kenosha County Sheriff's Office says the item was left in the lobby of the jail.

The Racine County Sheriff's Office says before leaving the package, she told other members of the public that she was going to "blow up" the building and that there was a bomb inside the package.

The Kenosha County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad arrived, and was able to X-ray the package and determined the item inside was not a bomb or any type of hazard.

The woman, a 29-year-old from Racine, was quickly located and taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing, and it is believed there is no further danger to the facility, occupants, or the public.
