MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee woman accused of killing a 1-year-old child in a 2023 crash, has been arrested after nearly two years on the run.

Authorities tell CBS 58, Antwineesha Burse, was taken into custody in Milwaukee on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

The crash happened Jan. 27, 2023.

According to a criminal complaint, the 1-year-old child's mother parked the unlocked vehicle at her home and went inside. The boy's mother told CBS 58, Burse was a family acquaintance and had been in the passenger seat of her car, then jumped into the driver's seat and drove away.

Police said Burse allegedly stole the car and crashed it near 35th St. and Hope Ave. One-year-old Zarion Robinson was in the vehicle when it was stolen, and he did not survive the crash.

Burse was hospitalized following the crash, but after being released she fled.
