BELOIT, Wis. (CBS 58) — Two people are in custody after shots were fired Friday afternoon near Euclid Avenue and Eighth Street in Beloit.

According to the Beloit Police Department, officers responded shortly after 1:15 p.m. and found evidence confirming that gunfire had occurred.

No injuries were reported.

A preliminary investigation determined two people fled the area immediately after the incident. Police later took two people matching the suspect descriptions into custody and said no suspects remain at large.

Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident and said there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Detectives are following investigative leads and reviewing available surveillance footage.
