According to the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, deputies received multiple reports shortly before 11 a.m. of a boat fully engulfed in flames on Fox Lake in the Town of Fox Lake.
Authorities said all four occupants jumped into the water and were rescued by nearby boaters. The fire department later towed the boat to shore, where crews extinguished the fire before it was removed from the lake by a towing company.
A preliminary investigation determined the fire was not caused by the occupants. Investigators said the boat had been purchased the previous day and was being legally operated by a juvenile-aged male with three juvenile-aged passengers, one of whom owned the boat.
Officials said no injuries were reported.
An onboard fire extinguisher was used in an attempt to put out the flames, but it was unsuccessful.
